IReR (Lombardy Regional Institute for Research)
is an independent institution, with scientific and entrepreneurial autonomy. Created in 1974 as the research body serving the regional policy planning, it carries out studies for both Government and the Regional Assembly. Its mission is to provide evidence‐based analyses for the implementation of policies, but also to support and advise strategic policy planning. IReR researches the main areas of regional competence, such as institutional, economic, social, territorial. It also develops research projects commissioned by public and private bodies.
